The D-end dining table
A twin pedestal D-end table, photographed on dust sheets in its own dining room before the work began.
After: the long top polished to a deep, even shine, with the ladder-back chairs back round it by the marble fireplace.
Each pair below is the same piece, before Craig started and after he finished. The captions say only what was done.

The veneer was lifting along the edges, and in places it had gone altogether.
Craig relaid the veneer and polished the whole board. The flame figure and the carved rope moulding read clearly again.

A slender inlaid chair with its cane back broken and a worn green seat.
It went home with a new hand-woven cane back panel and a new studded seat.

An Orkney-style chair with its tall woven straw back, and a seat worn right through.
The straw back stayed. Craig wove a new rush seat to go with it.

The woven paper cord seat had worn and broken through.
A new paper cord seat was woven onto the frame, tight and even.

A lacquer cabinet painted with birds and flowers, with a chipped top edge.
The damaged edge was repaired so the top runs clean again.

A tall six-drawer chest with a dull, worn finish.
Refinished, so the grain of the timber shows warm and clear.

A kitchen set with a worn, patchy finish on the table and every chair.
The table and chairs were refinished together, so the whole set matches again.

Text Craig a photo. Before is the easy bit.
